Life Skills & Intra-Entrepreneurship

Our program respected the best of immigrant culture while changing certain aspects that negatively affect our immigrants, families, and national interest. Traditionally, immigrant communities have been exceptional in

  • their perseverance and hard work
  • their sense of community involvement
  • their extended family support
  • their resilience and ability to adapt to difficult circumstances
  • their natural instincts to an entrepreneurial mindset

These practices served immigrants well for decades and distinguished them from other communities that fare poorly in such measures. Casa del Inmigrante maintained certain of these best practices while introducing new scientific approaches to eliminate various negative issues that may be holding them back from even greater success.

Although our program directly addresses the future success of immigrants, the outcome is to increase the success probability of spouses and employees as well. Men and women who understand each other and can work together as confident, trusting partners make each other stronger and happier in many ways.

Fathers In Education

Father In PrisonIn contradistinction to traditional Inmate engagement programs, Coflict's program for Restorative Re-entry focuses on proactive and preventive approaches to conflict escalation and human development, rather than reactive and therapeutic practices, and thus complements traditional programs while offering a unique level of success metrics.

The Coflict team draws on significant experience within the institutional systems of four regions – North America, Europe, East Asia, and Africa. Experience includes:

• Probation and parole oversight: Working with judges, parolees and parole officers to improve outcomes
• Workshops and one-on-one coaching: wide range of socioeconomic levels and ethnic backgrounds
• Re-entry programs: evaluation and analysis of re-entry program effectiveness and recidivism risk

Staff Team-Building

Working with a church in Norwalk, Connecticut, we planned a program of team-building with their head pastors and other elders of the church. They were open to new ideas and approaches adapted from corporate best practices, yet required a program that would be respectful of their Articles of Faith. Due to the scalable and flexible nature of Coflict programs, we were able to quickly customize our offerings to match their objectives.

Upon approval of the pastoral leaders after reviewing our foundational "games" and moderator documentation, we moved ahead with a single-afternoon program that would bring the 24 leaders of their various ministries into our leadership and team-building workshop. When the day arrived, we set up the head table and six tables for the teams, each composed of four key parishioners.
